Skerries Restaurant, our Taste of Scotland awarded Scottish restaurant, specializing in the best of Seafood and Orkney Meat, is highly revered by guests and locals whilst our whisky bar, has one of the best selections of malt whisky in Scotland. All 16 bedrooms have been individually decorated to a high standard, whilst our large traditional public rooms are popular for civil weddings, meetings and private dining. The four star hotel in Edinburgh is owned and managed by Derek and Shirley Mowat who have invested in creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. With so many things to see and do in Edinburgh, the Dunstane makes a perfect location for your Edinburgh City Break. Golfing breaks are available where courses and tee times can be booked along with your room reservation. Christmas Breaks are a speciality. Dunstane House was built in 1852 to the design of the famous architect William Playfair, who also designed the nearby Donaldsons' College for the Deaf. Originally Dunstane Villa, as it was first named, was the private residence of the Ross family, famous for their Edinburgh Castle Rock and other confectionery produced in Scotland. The bandstand in Princes Street gardens takes its name from the family. Our Edinburgh Hotel retains its Victorian architectural grandeur which, combined with an intimate country house atmosphere, ensures our guests leave with lasting memories of Dunstane. Crow step gables, archers' windows and ornate open fireplaces give Dunstane the atmosphere of a small castle. The Hotel is located in West Coates, a mainly residential area of Edinburgh, within walking distance of the city centre and the Water of Leith, which flows through a picturesque valley to the rear.
