It's ideally situated in over fourteen acres of its own gardens and woods, the perfect setting for a really romantic honeymoon or romantic break....We believe that Linthwaite offers some of the finest accommodation in the Lake District. A retreat where you will be looked after from the moment you arrive until the time comes to tear yourself away. We even have our own tarn where you can fish for brown trout or just listen to the silence, with fabulous views over Lake Windermere. Each evening when you return to Linthwaite comfy sofas, crackling log fires and great 'unstuffy' service await to help you unwind and relax amidst the great scenery. Everyone who has worked for years in hotels dreams about owning the perfect hotel. At Linthwaite we fell in love with its superb location and breathtaking views of Lake Windermere. Our hotel is a haven for those with distinctive tastes, who appreciate some of the finer things in life, and who enjoy being looked after in a manor that is professional without being pretentious. Linthwaite offers quality accommodation, and is arguably one of the finest Windermere hotels. Accommodation Facilities: Twenty-six rooms all with private bath, shower, bathrobes, 12-channel TV, trouser press, tea and coffee making, teddy bear, books, mineral water. Some with Lake Views, king size beds with canopies. Grade 3 disabled room on ground floor with own external access. No smoking rooms available. Lounge and restaurant no smoking. Full room service. Ralph Lauren meets Raffles style interior design. De luxe rooms with CD mini Hi Fi. Two suites, and twin bedded rooms available. The 2 rosette award-winning restaurant serves 'modern British' food and is under the stewardship of Andy Nicholson, one of the new generation of talented young British chefs. We provide the ideal setting for small, private lunches or dinners. Our excellent cuisine features the best fresh, local produce - ample portions immaculately presented, with a fine selection of wines. Throughout the day a selection of freshly made sandwiches and beverages are served. Afternoon tea is served between 3.30 and 5.00 p.m. At lunchtime guests can choose from the Terrace Menu. In the evening there is a four-course table d'hôte menu, which changes daily. A traditional Sunday Lunch (four course Table d'hôte menu) is also available in the restaurant on Sunday from 12.00 - 1.30. If you are stopping in the local area or staying in the hotel simply give reception a call and we can reserve a table for you. The hotel is Ideally situated in Windermere for walking, cycling or touring the Lake District and is close to all the major heritage attractions including: Beatrix Potter's 'Hilltop' and Wordsworth's homes. Nearby attractions also include Levens Hall: a fine example of an Elizabethan Mansion House with one of the best topiary gardens in England, and Hadrian's Wall built by the Romans.
