Kirkwood House provides comfortable,pleasant accommodation with a lovely homely atmosphere.All our rooms are individually decorated and offer complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in each room with daily cleaning service.Fresh,clean towels and complimentary trays are provided daily. Each room comes complete with colour tv,hairdryer,luggage holders,radio alarm clock and soaps and showergels.All rooms are en-suite and centrally heated.Some rooms overlook our beautiful garden. For breakfast we offer a choice of Traditional English,Vegetarian or Continental.To accompany your breakfast you also receive fruit juice,a selection of cereals,toast jam and marmalade and tea or coffee. In reception there is a payphone that may be used by all guests.Alongside this is a wide selection of maps,pamphlets and general information on Cambridge.An iron and ironing board are also available on request. Kirkwood House has been awarded 3 Diamonds by the English Tourism Council and enjoys a continued popularity due to its cleanliness, hospitality,ideal location and overall quality.We are located on Chesterton Road which is 5 minutes walk to the beautiful River Cam and a further 5-10 minutes walk to the City Centre, University Colleges and major shopping areas.By walking along the River to the City Centre,you will pass through the beautiful Jesus Green Park,and many pubs and restaurants.You will also see crews of rowers on the river,and,in summer,you will see many people punting.This is a truly pleasant walk.For those wishing to use the bus service,a bus stop is located just 1 minute away.Excellent taxi service also available.The business and science parks are also very close to us.We are also just a very short drive from the infamous Newmarket races,as well as Ely,along with its also infamous Ely Cathederal.For the sports enthusiast,we are very close to the Gog Magog golf course,and within walking distance to swimming pools,tennis courts,sports centres,football grounds and many beautiful parks. Ample free parking.All major credit cards accepted 5% surcharge.Please note Kirkwood House is a non-smoking establishment. Please note,we do not offer accommodation for children under 10 years of age,unless sharing a room with only 1 other adult.
